Akamai's Chief Security Architect, Andy Ellis, was awarded the 2011 Compass Award for security leadership from the editors of CSO Magazine. "As head of Akamai's InfoSec, Ellis has not only driven the security practices at one of the world's largest clouds, he has paved the way in openness and transparency to his customer base". Akamai CEO Paul Sagan Awarded "2010 CEO of the Year" by Mass TLC
The Mass Technology Leadership Council (TLC), Inc., a regional business association focused on addressing the critical leadership issues of innovative technology and technology-enabled companies, named Akamai CEO Paul Sagan as the "2010 (Publicly Traded) CEO of the Year." Paul was recognized at the organization’s Annual Awards Gala, which honors technology leaders across Massachusetts who have been particularly visionary in their ability to "drive innovation."

Akamai Co-Founder and Chief Scientist Tom Leighton awarded for "Outstanding Contribution to the Growth and Success of Mobile Health"
During the 2010 Mobile Health Expo, Akamai Co-Founder and Chief Scientist Tom Leighton was presented with an award for "Outstanding Contribution to the Growth and Success of Mobile Health." One of handful of executives honored at the conference, Tom was recognized for the "creation of cutting-edge innovations and advancements in the fast-growing area of mobile technology."

Paul Sagan named Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of The Year® 2009 Winner in the Technology category
Ernst & Young recognized Paul Sagan as an Entrepreneur of The Year® 2009 national winner. Akamai Service & Support Organization Wins Stevie® Award
Akamai‘s Service & Support organization was awarded top honors for Innovation in Customer Service at the 3rd Annual Stevie Awards for Sales & Customer Service, an international competition recognizing excellence in disciplines that are crucial to business success.

Paul Sagan honored as 2009 CEO of the Year
Members of the Massachusetts Network Communications Council voted Paul as Public Company CEO of the Year at an awards ceremony in Cambridge on April 14, 2009. This marks the second time that Paul has received this distinction, having also been voted CEO of the Year by the Council in 2007.

Paul Sagan Elected to American Academy of Arts & Sciences
Akamai President and Chief Executive Officer Paul Sagan has been elected as a new member of the American Academy of Arts & Sciences, one of the nation's oldest and most prestigious honorary societies and independent policy research centers.

Tom Leighton Elected to National Academy of Engineering
Akamai Chief Scientist, Dr. Tom Leighton, was elected as a new member of the National Academy of Engineering (NAE). Dr. Leighton, one of the world's preeminent authorities on algorithms for network applications, was elected based on his engineering accomplishments associated with the design of networks and circuits, and for the development of Web content delivery technologies.

The NIAC provides the President with advice on the security of information systems for critical infrastructure that supports a variety of sectors of the economy, including banking and finance, transportation, energy, manufacturing, and emergency government services.
