Mr. Goodtree will be responsible for all aspects of Akamai's marketing efforts, including the commercial launch of the company's first service offering, FreeFlowSM. He will oversee all marketing functions ranging from product development and market research, to branding and corporate identity, to advertising and public relations.

He authored numerous reports such as; "Sizing Internet Services," "Coping With Global Telecom," "Local Competition Unfolds," "Web Hosting For Hire," and "Unlocking AT&T's Potential."
Often sought for insight by leading business publications, David has been quoted in numerous periodicals, including The Wall Street Journal, Business Week, and The Economist.
Before joining Forrester, Mr. Goodtree held the position of Senior Manager at MCI Communications where he marketed a multi-billion dollar product line to business customers and prospects. Mr. Goodtree is a graduate of Brandeis University.
"The success of any Web-intensive business is deeply dependent upon Internet performance," explains Mr. Goodtree. "Akamai delivers a key service for major content owners and eCommerce companies - ensuring that their online visitors have a speedy, satisfying customer experience. I'm thrilled at the opportunity to help Akamai bring its technology breakthrough to market, ending the World Wide Wait."
Over the last several months, Akamai has recruited a top-notch team of experienced Internet business professionals to join its founding group of world-class scientists. In addition to Mr. Goodtree, recent executive appointments include: George Conrades, former CEO of BBN as Akamai CEO and Chairman; Paul Sagan, former President of Time Inc. Based upon its global fault-tolerant network, the company's FreeFlowSM service speeds up the delivery of rich Web pages and enables businesses with large Web audiences to serve them reliably and with high-performance from servers located close to end users. Akamai is currently implementing FreeFlow with some of the largest sites on the Internet, including five of the world's most-visited web sites.
