RTL NEWMEDIA chooses Akamai's FreeFlowSM service to enhance the delivery of its rich Web content on its portal, RTL WORLD

Munich, January 08, 2001 - Akamai Technologies, GmbH, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Akamai Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: AKAM), the leading Content Delivery Service Provider (CDSP), today announced that RTL NEWMEDIA has selected Akamai's FreeFlow content delivery service to provide fast and reliable delivery of the rich content that is found on its portal, RTL WORLD, located on the Internet at www.rtl.de. Akamai's FreeFlow service delivers RTL NEWMEDIA's Web content, including pictures, graphics, and photos, to its end users with enhanced performance and reliability and optimizes the website's performance even during peak traffic periods.

RTL NEWMEDIA, a wholly-owned subsidiary of RTL-Television, manages all Internet and digital activities of RTL-Television, one of the leading German TV-Stations with a market share of 14.3% (GfK Group, dpa 02.01.2001).
