The city where Akamai was born, Cambridge, Massachusetts is one of America’s premier centers for higher learning. It's no surprise, given the proximity of Harvard University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, that Cambridge has produced some of the most innovative, successful companies in technology, biotechnology, nanotechnology and medical devices.

Akamai's Cambridge facility houses our primary NOCC, or Network Operations Command Center, where we proactively monitor Internet traffic conditions and the health and speed of the Akamai platform. In addition, Cambridge is home to a major percentage of Akamai's Engineering and Quality Assurance groups, charged with building, testing, maintaining and enhancing Akamai's service offerings.
