California's San Francisco Bay Area is home to Akamai's satellite office located in San Mateo. The area attracts the cream of the high-technology crop, not only because of the comfortable climate, but also because of the presence of several premiere colleges and universities, including Stanford University and University of California, Berkeley, and the world's high-technology nerve center, Silicon Valley.

Charged with designing, building, and maintaining several of Akamai's premiere service offerings, many of Akamai's most critical Engineering, Quality Assurance, and Support teams call the Bay Area home.
