Neurotic Media Teams with Akamai for Ground-Breaking New Media Marketplace
Akamai Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: AKAM), the leading global service provider for accelerating content and business processes online, announced today that Neurotic Media, a leading business-to-business ASP offering private-labeled music download stores and services to content owners, entertainment companies, consumer brands and retailers, has standardized on Akamai's Media Delivery solution to deploy its business-to-business digital media distribution platform.
Neurotic Media selected Akamai Media Delivery as the underlying digital delivery platform for its music and video download services. Neurotic Media easily integrated Akamai Media Delivery with its payment processing, syndication and digital rights management infrastructure to offer a flexible platform for entertainment companies to generate revenue by executing turnkey marketing campaigns such as promotional downloads, coupon redemption programs or even entire private label music stores. Neurotic Media's platform serves consumer brands seeking to offer downloadable entertainment to incentivize sales of their brick and mortar products and services.
"Consumers expect rich Internet experiences — whether downloading music or watching a feature film on a portable device," said Robert Hughes, executive vice president global sales, services and marketing at Akamai. "Likewise, content owners need tools to manage and control their digital asset delivery. Akamai Media Delivery is a proven solution that allows Neurotic Media to meet these demands through its innovative marketplace."
Neurotic Media clients, including music labels and Internet content providers, benefit from Akamai's global network and ability to scale reliably to support mission-critical promotional campaigns that include music files, video, lyrics (PDF), and other assets. Together, the solutions empower clients to gather valuable consumer data, increase revenue and enhance brand equity. In addition, Akamai Media Delivery offers detailed metrics on asset performance, such as download completion rates, providing Neurotic Media clients with in-depth insight into campaign performance and ROI coupled with the collection of valuable consumer information.
"The overwhelmingly positive reports we are getting back from clients represents an affirmation of our commitment to our clients' desire to have hands-on control of their day-to-day operational needs," says Shachar Oren, Neurotic Media's CEO. "We are excited about integrating with Akamai. Their world-class solution provides our clients with the scalability required for the mission-critical services we host. Akamai is a leader in content delivery acceleration services, and we're proud to be able to couple our services with theirs."
Not simply a B2B "content aggregator," Neurotic Media has positioned itself as an enabling tool for content owners such as record companies, movie studios and broadcasters — all of which may administer their digital catalogs on Neurotic Media's platform with full control of metadata, files, distribution provisioning, pricing, DRM, and reports. Content owners may also use Neurotic Media's platform as a main catalog repository that tracks licenses while merchants use APIs for delivery integration. The platform provides content owners full transparency into the lifecycle of their digital products while protecting merchant's proprietary consumer data. Merchants may host fully-branded stores on the platform, or use API integration for their existing stores. Merchants login and interact with the catalogs content owners have provisioned for them.
