Akamai (NASDAQ: AKAM), the intelligent edge platform for securing and delivering digital experiences, today announced that it was cited as a Strong Performer in The Forrester Wave™: Zero Trust eXtended (ZTX) Ecosystem Providers, Q4 2018 evaluation. In the report, Forrester evaluated 14 vendors and how their portfolios deliver on specific components of the ZTX framework. Amongst those analyzed, Akamai received the highest scores possible in the network security and workload security criteria, and among the highest scores in the ZTX road map and differentiation criterion, and among the second highest in the ZTX vision and strategy, and people/workforce security criteria.
According to the report, the ZTX market is growing because more security leaders see Zero Trust as a way to address top security and risk challenges. In turn, this adoption has created significant growth opportunities within the Zero Trust market. The report states, “Growth is in large part due to security pros increasingly relying on vendors to act as both technical integrator and long-term partner for planning and actualizing the architectural recommendations of the Zero Trust eXtended ecosystem framework.”
The report states, “Historically, security pros relied on next-generation firewalls and other legacy access technology to enforce Zero Trust microperimeters. Today, there is a variety of adaptive software-based approaches that can accomplish this while more fully integrating the components and capabilities of the extended ecosystem framework. Vendors that clearly align their future vision and road maps to Zero Trust will create differentiation.”
