What is a power market?
A power market is a grouping of regional electricity grids, often cross-state, that pool electricity from all the power generators on those grids. One of Akamai’s principles is to procure clean energy from new renewable projects in the same markets where our network data centers operate, so that we contribute clean, renewable energy to the same grids we pull from.
How much is a megawatt?
1 MW power plant can provide power to around 350 U.S. homes, depending on environmental conditions, energy use, and type of energy produced.
