Akamai Foundation To Award Top High School Math Students With $45,000 In College Scholarships
CAMBRIDGE, MA – June 4, 2018 – The Akamai Foundation today announced that it will award five high school math students with scholarships for their placement in the recent U.S.A. Mathematical Olympiad (USAMO), the final invitational exam in the Mathematical Association of America (MAA) American Mathematics Competitions (AMC). An awards ceremony for the 47th USAMO winners will be held on June 4th in Washington, D.C.
Akamai Establishes $50 Million Endowment To Support Mathematics Programs In STEM Education
CAMBRIDGE, MA – April 12, 2018 – Akamai Technologies today announced the establishment of a $50 million endowment in support of The Akamai Foundation, a private corporate foundation dedicated to encouraging the next generation of technology innovators by promoting the pursuit of excellence in mathematics in grades K-12. The one-time endowment will help the Akamai Foundation continue to support STEM education, with a focus on mathematics, while growing its reach globally through direct grants to locally-registered charities and global non-government organizations that emphasize assisting under-represented groups within today’s technology workforce.
