You’re welcome.

Akamai people increasingly represent the diversity of the communities where we work and live.

We strive to foster inclusive and representative workplaces where all employees are wholly welcome. And are fully able to share and benefit from each other’s diverse contributions, as one global team.

Our commitment to diversity reaches beyond our corporate offices, to our business partners and suppliers who share the same principles, and whose employees we value as integral to the Akamai business family.

Diversity at Akamai

“Our inclusive culture fosters diversity of thought which translates into an innovative and collaborative environment.” – Dr. Tom Leighton, Co-Founder & CEO

At Akamai, diversity is a mission-critical goal, and executives are held accountable for demonstrating progress throughout the year toward our strategic objectives. We believe that our inclusive culture makes us a better company, a better global competitor, and a better corporate citizen in the many places where we do business.

Employee Resource Groups

At Akamai, employee resource groups start with our people, grow from grassroots support, and strengthen with the full support of the CEO and the entire leadership team.

We champion efforts to help women succeed in the technology industry, and lead at Akamai. Help military veterans transition to civilian jobs, and join our ranks. Invite people who identify as LGBTQ to carry the Tech Superhero flag. And develop opportunities for people whose abilities complement those of our exceptionally capable teams.

Events & Opportunities

We Value Community

Employee Resource Groups raise awareness of diversity and inclusion across Akamai. Help augment Akamai talent recruitment efforts by partnering with diverse professional organizations. Act as a channel for outreach to benefit our diverse population. And provide support for the development of Akamai employees.

  • Women’s Forum – With chapters in the U.S., EMEA, India, and APJ, this group helps raise awareness, support professional development, identify and create networking opportunities, and enable the next generation of women in tech to grow, advance, and lead in careers at Akamai.
  • IndUS – A forum for South Asian employees across Akamai to seek professional development and mentoring opportunities, and express their shared cultural identity through awareness programs and company activities.
  • out@akamai – People who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender—and their allies—can meet, share experiences, work to raise awareness, improve engagement, and support development for all employees.
  • Ohana – Employees across Akamai who identify as African American, Black, Hispanic, Latin American, or with other racial and ethnic groups can network, learn from peers, mentor others, seek professional development, socialize, and share cultural interests.
