Akamai and Cloudwise Enter into a Strategic Partnership to Support Chinese Companies Seeking to Expand Globally

Beijing, CN |

Akamai Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: AKAM), a global leader in content delivery network (CDN) services, today announced a strategic partnership agreement with Cloudwise Technology, a leading Chinese solution provider for application performance management (APM). The collaboration is designed to provide joint customers end-to-end web performance and security solutions when exploring overseas opportunities.

Motivated by Chinese government policy encouraging local companies to ‘Go Global’ in recent years, many Chinese companies are expanding abroad. For Chinese companies with business operations highly dependent on the Internet, web performance is critical to their brand image, go-to-market efficiency, customer acquisition, and user satisfaction. However, their IT deployment to a global audience is often hampered by higher maintenance and operation costs to provide the best user experience. Leveraging Akamai’s globally-distributed Intelligent Platform, and Cloudwise’s business-oriented application performance management solutions, the partnership is intended to help address these challenges and enable their joint customers to enjoy an enhanced user experience, IT agility and lower Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).

“Akamai is a global leader in CDN services,” said Jun Kang, Vice President of Sales, Cloudwise, “We are happy to build up a strategic partnership with Akamai. With this partnership, we further improve our globally-distributed monitoring and large-scale stress test network. We could also provide our 300,000 enterprise customers and potential users with high-quality overseas CDN resources when they expand globally.”

“As China’s leading application performance management provider, Cloudwise has extensive Internet service experience with Chinese companies. The strategic partnership between Akamai and Cloudwise will enable us to better meet the demands of Chinese companies utilizing cloud and CDN to deploy globally, which helps to reduce their costs in overseas application development, operation, maintenance and testing,” explained Danny Mesrop, Head of Channels for Asia Pacific at Akamai. “Cloudwise has seen increasing demands from their customers to provide content distribution services to their global users. Based on this strategic partnership, we believe Akamai is well-positioned to meet these demands.”

Since the two companies have a strong leadership in CDN services and APM, the partnership could bring added value to Akamai and Cloudwise’s joint customers.
