Internalship enables employees to develop skills both non-technical and technical like Python, Solution Engineering, and Customer influencing skills, directly impacting their current role. It also helps them build skills that put them one step closer to their aspirations. It is with these kinds of developmental opportunities Akamai ensures to remain invested in employees' future.

Example of how it works: A Software developer interested in learning pre-sales can opt for an existing opportunity through this program for 3-6 months.

  • Host team opens a learning opportunity carving out a task to execute

  • The team publishes the requirement on our internal portal, inviting applications

  • Host team vets applications to understand their motivation and capabilities to learn

  • A selected employee gets to spend 20% of the time with the host team and learn new skills for 3-6 months

Since the program's inception, we have seen over 50 employees completing the program, which has significantly impacted their career goals. Participation at this scale has proven that this program is playing a very crucial role in transforming careers. This program's main objective is to allow our employees to assume greater ownership for their career growth and path.
