Akamai's data visualizations display the world's online behavior at any given moment
Akamai’s CDN platform delivers 15-30% of the world's web traffic. We combine this global scope with constant data collection to construct a picture of what's happening on the Internet. How fast is data moving? Where's the most web traffic congestion? What events are causing spikes in web activity? Previously, only Akamai and our customers had access to this information. Now we're opening that window into the online universe.
Visualizing the Internet
Continually updated visualizations provide a picture of global web traffic, viruses/attacks, the speed of data moving between major cities and the volume of data and users on the Akamai platform.
Akamai IO is a portal for sharing continuous data from the traffic Akamai sees with the community. Akamai delivers roughly 2 trillion content requests a day, spanning websites from practically every industry and geography. This volume and diversity of data is unique, and is an accurate representation of the entire web.
Akamai monitors global Internet conditions around the clock. With this real-time data we identify the global regions with the greatest attack traffic, cities with the slowest web connections (latency), and geographic areas with the most web traffic (traffic density).
