Responsible Supply Chain Program (RSCP)
Overview
Akamai builds responsible supply chain practices that support ethical business conduct, regulatory compliance, and operational resilience. Our Responsible Supply Chain Program (RSCP) focuses on transparency and continuous improvement.
The program has four strategic goals:
- Minimize environmental impact across our supply chain
- Promote global regulatory compliance
- Foster ethical business practices throughout our supplier network
- Generate positive financial impact for the company
Supply chain standards
Akamai works with a diverse network of global partners and suppliers. We expect all partners and suppliers to obey local laws and follow the principles set out in Akamai’s Supplier Code of Conduct and our Partner Code of Conduct.
Beyond legal compliance, Akamai asks its suppliers and partners to uphold the spirit and intent of our Codes of Conduct by advancing respect for human rights, environmental sustainability, and ethical business practices across their operations.
Supply chain risk assessment
To address evolving regulatory expectations and manage risks across our value chain, we apply a risk-based approach to supply chain due diligence focused on identifying, assessing, and addressing environmental, social, and governance risks.
Under this approach, we:
- Assess suppliers using defined risk categories, informed by data-driven analysis and direct engagement
- Prioritize and collaborate with suppliers based on risk exposure to address identified issues
- Monitor regulatory developments and emerging best practices to continuously strengthen our supply chain risk management program
Suppliers and partners are expected to monitor and enforce these standards consistently across their own operations and supply chains, as well as make improvements to meet or exceed our expectations.
Supplier Engagement Program
Overview
Akamai’s Supplier Engagement Program is designed to provide access to procurement opportunities for a wide range of small businesses. By cultivating strong, mutually beneficial relationships, we aim to build a supplier ecosystem that reflects the rich variety of capabilities, experiences, and backgrounds across the communities we serve.
This program supports a commitment to innovation, excellence, and community resilience — ensuring our supply chain remains agile and inclusive, and is aligned with our mission to power and protect life online.
Who we partner with
In addition to working with large corporations, Akamai seeks partnerships with small businesses that share our vision and values. This includes businesses of all types, including those owned by veterans, individuals with disabilities, underrepresented business owners, and/or those facing social or economic barriers.
